Pork Spareribs with Pineapples


My mom recently made pork stock out of spareribs and usually we would just eat them with soup and vegetables, but I decided to use the softened spareribs to make another dish instead. The day my mom made the stock, she separated the broth from the spareribs and stored them in the freezer. I defrosted them today and thought of using them to make Spareribs with Pineapples. First, I air fried the spareribs to make them a little crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. You can skip this step if you like. Since the pork has little flavor in them because most went to the stock, I made the sauce tangy and flavorful to compensate for it.

What you need:
– 750g pork spareribs, boiled
– rock salt and pepper
– 1 tbsp light olive oil
– 2 tsp minced garlic
– 1/2 red onion, sliced
– 1 red bell pepper, sliced
– 4 tbsp Panda Express Orange Sauce
– 4 tbsp juice from the canned pineapple chunks
– 1 tbsp oyster sauce
– 1 tbsp banana ketchup
– 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water
– 1 cup pineapple chunks

Season the pork spareribs with rock salt and pepper. Preheat the air fryer at 200 degrees Celsius. When temperature has been reached, air fry the spareribs for 8 minutes. Set aside.

Prepare the sauce. Mix together the orange sauce, oyster sauce, banana ketchup, and pineapple juice. Sauté the minced garlic and red onions in light olive oil. Add the sauce mixture and cornstarch mixture. Add the pineapple chunks. Then put in the spareribs and coat them well with the sauce.
